The museum is located in an ancient monastery. It contains one of the best collections of Spanish art in the world. A special gallery is dedicated to some of El Greco's paintings. The painter Murillo, born in Seville, is considered the museum's star.
The museum is located next to Calle de Alfonso XII, which runs from east to west, crossing the city center.

To reach the museum, you need to walk a few hundred meters to the north west from the cathedral. The easiest way from the cathedral is to walk north along Calle Zaragoza, and then Calle Gravina.
